In the past, we got many of our starts from Thrifty Feed, when we learned of the store closing, we thought, WOW, where are we going to get our starts from now? Enter Eric from As Thyme Goes By, the supplier of many of the veggies/starts we all got over the years at Thrifty. We are so excited to offer a space for Vancouver to get their hands on these delightful unique medicinal and culinary herbs!

“What would you need a plant dish for?” my husband asks… Oh, my dear, the possibilities are endless; especially since these dishes are also food safe. 🙂 Meet the creator: Dana, over at Whiskey Dog Ceramics. We asked if she’d be willing to create functional dishes for plants to bask in. Well, she was successful and they are amazing. Get them here, now.
Mortar/Hypertufa Pots by Jeff
We partnered with our friend Jeff who makes these lightweight, rugged-looking hypertufa and (heavy-weight) mortar plant pots and we adore them. Most of us know what mortar pots are, but what’s hypertufa ya ask? It’s a mixture of Portland cement, peat moss, and perlite that is pressed against a mold to create whatever shape you’re going for. We are lucky to offer many pots by Jeff at the shop.
While searching the internet for places that sell magnets that are cute and safe to use on plant leaves, we came across Good Plant Vibes. Check out their sweet glasses for your plants… and other cute magnetic options, too. We have a small variety available in the shop!
Although for a bit we snooped on Instagram at the beautiful wire-wrapping work she handcrafts, we finally met Emily IRL at Pomeroy Farm Days. where Adriane fell in love with these earrings. We thought you might love them too and want a pair for yourself. Or maybe you want something else from JewelryLush… I’m certain you’ll find something you adore for yourself or someone else.
We’ve partnered with Wood and Soil to show off the unique, handmade with love plant baskets and stands created by Kelly and her husband Casey. You are welcome to come into the shop to pick up from our limited selection of Wood and Soil products or shop their Etsy page to see all that Kelly and Casey offer.
Mari is a punny, seed-paper greeting card-making, genius. We carry an array of her plant-y themed cards in the shop, many with puns that are sure to put a smile on your face and also on the face of the recipient. Plant the card in soil and watch it grow into veggies or flowers!
We offer small-batch, handmade functional plant pots and other awesome items by Vancouver, WA potter, Nina King! Check back often for more pieces available exclusively at Suburban Succulents.
We met Janice at Night Market Vancouver back in 2018, she created our first business sign, which we still use today, also made us custom plant tags, engraved a punny-flask we use, and more recently crafted plant stands for y’all! We have them available on our website or in the shop, or you can check out the Sunspot Emporium website.
